Wyoming
Wyoming is Michigan’s 16th largest community with west Michigan’s third largest industrial tax base. The City has a diverse cultural base, seven school districts, a balance of older and modern homes, retail variety and an abundance of parkland. Both my husband and I grew up in Wyoming and graduated from Wyoming Park (the building is now where Wyoming Junior High is located). The city has changed a bit from my childhood, but much has stayed the same as well. Some of my favorite things about Wyoming:
Â
- Marge’s Donut Den- anyone who has lived in Wyoming for a time can tell you this is the place for donuts.
- The parks. Growing up I played at Lemery Park which was only a short walk from my house. There are many great parks in Wyoming. Pinery park is awesome for sledding hills, Lamar Park has a beautiful baseball field and a splash pad, Oriole Park is another great park with a walking path and a splash pad as well.
- Close proximity to US-131.
- The Wyoming branch of the Kent District Library is an awesome facility with a water wall, 2 fireplaces and shape window seats.
